The 10 'best' national parks in Europe such as Great Britain have been removed from the list | World | News

Europe has a variety of beautiful national parks that provide great alternatives to busy seaside resorts and cities.

Visitors can ponder the wonders of nature while enjoying the unique scenery and wildlife these beauty spots have to offer.

The national parks are becoming increasingly popular and attract millions of visitors every year.

So the question arises which ones are the best to visit. Of course, the answer always depends on who you ask.

The website Europeanbestdestinations.com compiled his own list of the top ten, and not one was British.

The best choice was the Plitvice Lakes in Croatia, with its spectacular waterfalls. It lies between the Mala Kapela Mountains in the west and northwest, and the Lička Plješivica Mountains in the southeast.

Then come the National parks of Saxon in Switzerland, the Belluno Dolomites in Italy and the wild Taiga in Finland.

The Taiga is home to an array of wildlife once forever lost to Europe. Here, if they are lucky, visitors may catch a glimpse of brown bears and wolves.

In fifth place is Ecrins in France, which was crowned “European Mountain Park” by the Council of Europe.

This is followed by Durmitor in Montenegro, Triglav in Slovenia and fasting in Estonia.

Sooma is an ornithologist's paradise with its huge variety of exotic birds. The swamp forests are home to the White-backed Woodpecker and the Three-toed Woodpecker, while Lesser Spotted Eagles and Black Storks can be spotted above the floodplains.

There are also numerous breeding areas for the Great Snipe on the alluvial meadows and Golden Eagles live in the fens.

At the very back is the Ordesa National Park in Spain with its valleys, pastries and rivers that lie at the foot of Monte Perdido (3,355 meters).

Conspicuous by their absence British national parks, some of the apparently beautiful in the world.

Another list compiled by statista.com shows the ten most popular parks in Europe for the year 2021.

And this includes five British national parks in the top ten, with the Pembrokeshire coast taking the top spot. Others included Snowdonia, the Cairngorms, Northumberland and the South Downs.
