The Auckland properties that have been on the market the longest, and why?

That is the national average of 67 days.

However, there are properties that have been on the Auckland market for much longer, with one waiting around 18 months to be sold.

A big factor contributing to the longer wait time was that sellers were unwilling to recognize the lower rate as the price housing market cooled in Auckland, Harcourt’s business development manager said Aaron Davis.

A seller had to decide which was more important: get the maximum return from their property, or move on with their lives, he said.

If they preferred the former, they had to wait for the market to improve, and if they wanted the latter, they had to meet the buyer’s expectations and sell.

These are the Auckland homes that have been advertised the longest on Trade Me.
