THE killer of Joanna Simpson has lost a bid for freedom.
British Airways pilot Robert Brown beat her to death with a hammer within earshot of their two young children on Halloween 2010.
He was sentenced to 26 years for manslaughter, but was automatically released last year.
Minister of justice Alex Chalk got in after a fight by Jo's mother Diana Parkessupported by The Sun's Justice for Joanna campaign.
And Brown, 60, was told last week that his appeal had now been rejected.
Mr Chalk said: “Joanna Simpson was taken from her family for a crime of extraordinary callousness and cruelty. I am happy with the Court of Appeal rejected his application.”
