The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan has been rushed to hospital, while his wife is asking fans to “send prayers and healing vibes.”

The 64-year-old, who has been in a wheelchair since broke his pelvis in 2015has been in and out of the hospital for medical care in recent years.

Take to Twitter today his wife Victoria May Clarke shared a photo of Shane smiling and telling fans he was back in the hospital.

She said, ‘Please send prayers and healing vibes to @ShaneMacGowan at the hospital again and really hope to get out ASAP!! Thank you.’

Fans rushed to wish the Fairytale of New York singer a speedy recovery.

One wrote: ‘Not at Christmas, the man is the sound of Christmas… I hope he recovers quickly and not too much discomfort’.

Mrs Clarke told the Irish mirror that Shane finds it “frustrating” and wants out after being admitted last Friday.

She said, “I really hope he gets out this week.

“He’s a little frustrated, I think. He finds it very frustrating… he wants out.”

The couple have been together for more than 35 years and tied the knot in November 2018 at Copenhagen City Hall in Denmark.

The intimate ceremony was attended by their close friend Johnny Depp, who sang at the wedding.

The Irish singer-songwriter has not been in the best of health since breaking his pelvis in 2015. In 2021, he fell and broke a knee, before tearing the ligaments in his left knee and never fully recovered from the injuries.

In April, he confirmed that he “can’t walk anymore.”

He’s also been open about his battle with addiction, and in 2015 had to undergo a full set of dental implants after decades of drinking and using drugs destroyed his real ones.

But last week he seemed cheerful when he delighted fans by joining TikTokwith an incredible 840,000 views for his first video.

He said in the 17-second clip, “Welcome to Shane MacGowan on TikTok, hope you enjoy it. God bless you, Shane.”

Shane sported a bushy beard and wore a black top that he paired with a large silver crucifix necklace.
