The Vivo X90 series will be launched globally next week

TL;DR

  • Vivo has announced a global launch date for its X90 series phones.
  • The new flagship handsets will launch on February 3.

Vivo launched the X90 series of flagship phones in China in late November 2022, with plenty of horsepower and versatile camera systems from the Zeiss brand. However, we’ve had to wait a while for a global release, but the company has finally confirmed a launch date.

The Chinese brand announced a global launch on February 3, 2023 (22:00 GMT on February 2, 6:00 GMT+8 on February 3) on its global website, though it has not yet revealed specific markets. Nevertheless, we suspect the phones will be available in Europe, India and the Middle East.

It’s unclear if all the phones will hit the market, but the camera-related text on the back of the phone above suggests we’re looking at the very least at the Vivo X90 Pro (with a 50mm focal length).

The Vivo X90 Pro brings a MediaTek Dimension 9200 SoC, 6.78-inch 120 Hz OLED display (2,800 x 1,260), a 4,870 mAh battery, 120 W wired charging, 50 W wireless speeds, and an IP68 rating. This device also brings a one-inch 50MP IMX989 main camera, a 50MP 2x telephoto lens and a 12MP ultrawide shooter.

With that, we also hope to see the top-of-the-line Vivo X90 Pro Plus. It offers a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 6.78-inch QHD+ 120 Hz OLED display, a 4,700 mAh battery with 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and an IP68 rating. The Pro Plus is also king of the hill when it comes to photography, with a 50MP 1-inch main camera, 50MP 2x telephoto camera, 64MP 3.5x periscope camera and 48MP ultra-wide lens.

Anyway, we thought last year Vivo X80 Pro was a great camera-focused flagship phone that was a little overpriced in markets like Europe. So we hope to see more competitive pricing from these new handsets.
