Tia Mowry has filed for divorce from her husband, Cory Hardrict, after 22 years together.
The Sister Sister actress and her former partner tied the knot in 2008, two years after announcing their engagement.
In the 14 years they were married, they welcomed children Cairo and Cree together.
However, the 44-year-old confirmed the news of their split on Instagram, alongside a black and white throwback photo.
“I’ve always been honest with my fans, and today is no different,” Tia captioned the post. “I wanted Cory to share and I’ve decided to go our separate ways.
“These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as co-parenting of our beautiful children.
“I am grateful for all the happy times we have had together and would like to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we begin this new chapter in our lives.”
Followers flooded the comments below with support for the couple during their divorce.
“We really love you both so much. This really makes me cry,” wrote one fan. “Hope it all works out for you Tia. We love you.’
“I send prayers to you and your family during this transition period,” agreed another.
One wrote: ‘I hate that it has to be this way, but I wish you both the best on this new journey.’
An Instagram user replied, ‘Tia we love youuuu! I wish you nothing but love and happiness! [sic].’
As one follower added, “Heartbreaking, actually for many reasons. I pray for God’s comfort for both of you.’
Tia didn’t share the reason behind their breakup, but TMZ reports that she filed to end their marriage on Tuesday and filed court documents in LA.
According to the paperwork obtained by the publication, the TV icon cited irreconcilable differences.
She reportedly did not specify a date for the split and requested joint physical and legal custody of Cree and Cairo.
The news may come as a surprise, as the couple had been together for over two decades and regularly shared adorable glimpses into their family life on social media.
In April, Tia wrote a heartfelt tribute to her beauty on the occasion of their 14th wedding anniversary.
“I’ve loved you for 22 years and I’ll love you a million more,” she said at the time.
‘Happy 14th wedding anniversary! I love you, Mr. Hardrict.’
