Vodafone Idea becomes the first Indian telecom provider to receive a SOC2 Type II certificate

Vodafone Idea has become the first Indian telecom operator to achieve SOC2 Type II certification. This means that the telco maintains the highest standards when it comes to data security and protecting sensitive customer information and their privacy while managing Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks.

The certificate proves that Vi handles customer data very professionally on important parameters such as availability, security, confidentiality, processing integrity and privacy. It also means the telco can implement critical security policies and adhere to them for an extended period of time. Vi achieved SOC2 Type II certification after a rigorous evaluation process conducted by AICPA (Association of International Certified Professional Accountants).

The SOC2 Type II audit confirms this Goods the response to DDoS attacks is effective and the telco can identify threats faster, making it a reliable service provider for all companies. The telco received the SOC2 Type 1 certificate in 2022. It meant that the services Vi provides to customers are completely secure and compliant. But with the SOC2 Type II attestation, it further confirms that the company has consistently adhered to security processes over a period of 6 to 12 months.

“Our customers trust us with their most sensitive and confidential data. This attestation reaffirms that our security measures meet the best standards, giving our customers added confidence that their data is in safe hands,” said Mathan Kasilingam, CTSO, Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL).
