They can now be seen on the YouTube channel Liveration which explores the lives lived in alternative ways, such as being off the electricity grid or in vans.

Billie tells the channel what the couples' main motivation is going off-grid in the van is to escape from existence trapped in a life they don't want to lead.

She said: “We are not trapped in a society that controls us and living this life is freedom.”

“We don't want much, we just want to live a simple, modest life.”

The pair say yes no mortgage and being able to live in the moment and not worry about the kind of bills that people who live in a house do.

Billie said: “It's not good for everyone, but for us it's the best.

“All that stress you carry around, the bills coming in, getting up in the morning to go to work that you can't handle — it's all gone.”

Instead, in their van, named Luna The Green Goddess, all they have to worry about is finding a good place to sleep every night.

The van has everything they need to be self-sufficient for quite a while.

The converted Volkeswagon LT35 has solar panels on the roof and a skylight so they can look at the sky or stars.

I gave up my home to live in my work van full time

The conversion, which cost around £5,600, added ample storage space to the £2,400 engine.

It also has an electric stove, a gas stove and even a sink.

They can sleep on the bus in a cozy, lockable area.

Every night they look for a place to sleep that they try to make as beautiful and picturesque as possible.

But some nights they go to campsites, especially in winter, when they can't use solar energy.

Despite having few overheads, they also have to work short periods of time during the year to finance the lifestyle.

But that can be anywhere they want because they can take the comforts of their home with them, including their spice rack, books and artwork.

They now plan to install a wood-burning stove in the van to keep them warmer during the winter.
