Who has the best breasts in the world? According to the golden ratio

ACCORDING to the laws of the 'Golden Ratio', the celebrity with the best breasts in the world is none other than Our Girl star Michelle Keegan.

And while Michelle scored the highest, others came close based on a system developed by the ancient Greeks to measure physical perfection.

Ex Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr came right behind Michelle while This morning'S Holly Willoughby and Heart Radios Amanda HoldenAccording to a formula that determines the ideal position of the nipples, women's breasts were considered to have almost 'perfect' proportions.

The mathematical equation known as Phi, devised by the ancient Greeks, considers the ideal breast ratio to be 45:55.

This is where 45 percent of the breast would be above the nipple (upper pole) and 55 percent below the nipple (lower pole).

Mr Allen Rezai, consultant plastic surgeon put together a top five list to see how the breasts of modern celebrities matched, according to the formula.

He chose celebrities whose breasts are in natural proportion to their body shape, but said it can be difficult to judge this as it depends on the type of bra and clothing they wear.

He selected celebrities with natural-looking breastsby Denise Richards, Michelle Keegan, Miranda Kerr, Amanda Holden and Holly Willoughby.

The Harley Street surgeon said that for him the 'golden ratio' in breasts is about creating breasts that are in proportion to the rest of the body.

Explaining the science behind the equation, he said: “The golden ratio in breast anatomy considers a three-dimensional, frontal, lateral and vertical geometric view of the breast, based on the historically known golden or divine ratio, Phi (1/1.618).

“The Golden Ratio is a ratio that occurs everywhere in nature and has been used for thousands of years. You can find it in the pyramids of Egypt, in facial aesthetics and even in the shape of the breast.

“There have been several studies defining the most attractive breast shape, taking into account the ratio between the upper and lower poles of the breast, with the level of the nipple marking the dividing line between the upper and lower poles.

“The ratios include 35:65, 45:55, 50:50 and 55:45. One chest ratio that is mainly discussed in the media is 45:55.”

Denise Richards – 45:55

Former Real Housewife of Beverly Hills star Denise has scientifically 'perfect' breasts, according to the ratio.

Mr Allen Rezai MD said: “The size of Denise's breasts fits perfectly with the proportions of her body and shape.

“Her upper breast tissue appears full and supple, which gives a natural appearance. It creates a natural slope in the upper pole with fullness in the lower pole.”

He added that it's all about the “natural look” when it comes to breasts; he said, “Has she or not?” is the question many of his patients expect from surgery – for people who can't tell if they've had breast implants.

Michelle Keegan – 45:55

Actress Michelle's breasts are also scientifically 'perfect' – with a Golden Ratio comparison of 45:55.

Mr Rezai explained that Michelle's ratio “provides a natural appearance to the breasts”.

“It's proportionate to her slim and petite figure,” he added.

Miranda Kerr – 55:45

The ex Victoria's secret supermodel also made the top five list.

Mr. Rezai believes that the most attractive breast size and shape is one that complements one's figure, rather than undermining or overpowering it.

He said this has a lot to do with proportions and that Miranda's breasts fit her body shape perfectly, including her hip-to-waist ratio and height.

He added: “The weave seems soft and evenly distributed. They look full, but not overly large – they just suit her proportions really well.”

Holly Willoughby – 55:45

TV star Holly Willoughby was also featured in Mr Rezai's compilation, as her breasts are in proportion to her figure.

The surgeon added: “Holly's breasts are in proportion to her toned figure, with a ratio of 55:45.

“It appears she has a slightly longer upper breast stick compared to the distance from nipple to breast fold.”

Amanda Holden-60:40

The Britain has talent judge also appeared in the list – with her breasts given a 60:40 ratio based on the formula.

Mr Rezai said: “Amanda Holden's breast ratio is 60:40 with a longer upper breast stick compared to the distance between the nipple and the breast fold.

“If she had more volume, her breasts would look out of proportion unless the distance between the nipple and the breast fold increases.”

Mr Rezai believes that breast enlargement with a 'natural appearance' can achieve the golden ratio.

But just like measuring for shoes, he says a customized treatment plan is essential to achieving natural results, the perfect fit or the Golden Ratio.

What is the golden ratio and how do you work it out?

  • The Golden Ratio is the numerical definition of 'perfect' beauty dating back over 2,500 years at a ratio of 1:1,618, known as 'phi'.
  • The mathematical equation considers the ideal breast ratio to be 45:55, where 45 percent of the breast would be above the nipple and 55 percent below the nipple.
  • Dr. Patrick Mallucci identified the formula for perfect breasts in 2007 after conducting a study where people ranked breast types in different proportions.
  • The survey found that 87 percent of respondents considered breasts with a ratio of 45:55 to be their favorite.
  • The upper pole was straight or concave and the nipple pointed toward the sky at an average angle of 20 degrees.
  • In all cases, the breasts showed a tight, convex lower pole – a neat but voluminous curve.
  • You can find the ratio by measuring the percentage of the breast above and below the nipple.

He said: “There is no set method for achieving natural-looking results. Instead, treatment plans must be tailored to each patient, as each individual is different in anatomy, lifestyle and preference.

“With a “Natural Appearance” and the Golden Ratio in mind, I take into account the patient's height, weight, breast width, breast height and the distance between the nipple and the breast fold, as well as the patient's preference as to what involves upper and lower breast pool volume to determine the best type and size of breast implant for the patient's body, as well as the best surgical techniques to employ.

But beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it is not ideal to define beautiful and natural breasts 100 percent based on one ratio.”
