MASTERCHEF has declared a “worthy” winner as the show celebrated its 20th anniversary on air.
After a blood-curdling final between the three remaining amateur chefs, it was up to the jury Johannes Torode And Greg Wallace Unpleasant to crown their 2024 MasterChef champion.
Who won the MasterChef 2024 final?
After an exciting final, Bristol man Brin Pirathapan was crowned champion.
Winning chef was over the moon as he insisted he “couldn't breathe” as he was told he'd won Master Chef 2024.
After his big win, a delighted Brin said: 'I'm absolutely over the moon. I can not breathe.
“I am a big mix of my background, my culture and all the opportunities my parents have given me.
“They were incredible and I did as much for them as I did for myself.
“The experience itself was incredible and to top it off with this is just the most amazing thing ever.”
On what is next one for him after the victory ChefBrin said: “I would love one future in the food industry.
“Waking up every morning knowing I'm doing something I absolutely love would be an amazing feeling.
“It would be fantastic to write a cookbook and explore supper clubs or private dining. Longer term, I would like food to take me all over the world.
He added: “MasterChef has already given me the opportunity to cook for some of my absolute heroes.
“I would love to do another Chef's Table for even more big names and see what they really think of my food!
“I feel like I have so much more to learn and this is hopefully just the beginning.”
MasterChef fans were also impressed with the result, with one tweeting: “Yes, right choice – fantastic chef.”
Another said: “Well done Brin, well deserved winner.”
Someone else wrote: “Go to Brin! 100% the right winner! What a chef!”
What did the winner of MasterChef 2024 cook in the final?
For a Chef winner could be crowned, the final three took on the toughest challenge of the competition.

Brin's winning menu started with fried capers, pickled chilli, pickled and charred shallots, orange and honey glazed octopus with tempura mussels, herb tilles sprinkled with scallop roe, an orange gel and samphire, on a romesco sauce.
Gregg told Brin: “It's wonderful. This is a beautiful piece of work,” and John added: “Your mind and how it works, I'm not quite sure. But I would eat the whole plate. I would eat three plates.”

The main course consisted of seasoned deer tenderloin, beef rib and pickled mushroom tart, celeriac puree and miso, salt-baked beetroot and pak choi.
It was served with a gochujang and red wine sauce split with a herb oil.
John responded: “You eat it and your flavor comes to life… …it's a huge amount of work and it tastes delicious.
Brin rounded out his menu with a dessert of white chocolate and cardamom and saffron cremeux, with pieces of pistachio meringue, whisky-poached mango, raspberry gel, pistachio crumb and a mango, lime and chilli sorbet.
Gregg commented: “My friend, congratulations on an absolutely amazing dessert.
Before adding: “I really admire your courage. You are such a brave cook. Never change.”
Who were the MasterChef 2024 finalists?
Brin won the match after competing against the farmer Louise Lyon Macleod from Exmoor National Park and circus performer Chris Willoughby by Oxfordshire.
Chris first appeared on MasterChef in 2023 and made it all the way to the quarter-finals.
However, he got a second shot and this time reached the last three.

Louise also had a special reason for being on the show.
Explain this to the BBCshe said: “My friends and family have been bullying me to sign up for MasterChef for at least 15 years.
“The reason I signed up this year was because I had just had my five-year cancer anniversary.”
What did the MasterChef judges say about the 2024 winner?
The MasterChef judges were left bursting pridewith John Torode stating: “Twenty years we've been doing MasterChef. That's the best finale we've ever done.”
The Australian chef continued: “Brin is an extraordinary chef and an amazing talent.
“He takes combinations that don't sound like they belong together, but that work.
“Today he has delivered three absolutely sensational courses that could grace the table of any restaurant across the country.”
Fellow judge Gregg Wallace echoed this, saying: “These are ingredient combinations that Brin is inventing.
“That makes him dangerously smart. He has technique, he has creativity.
“In my experience, Brin is unique. One of the brightest talents I have ever seen.”
What is the prize for winning MasterChef?
There is no cash prize for the winner, but the champion can take home the coveted MasterChef trophy.
The prize is actually the honor of taking the title.
