Residents of a Kildare estate are to protest against plans to house international protection (IP) applicants in a privately owned property amid fears landlords will be encouraged to leave the rental market.

A briefing document sent by the Ministry of Integration stated that a house in Páirc Mhuire in Newbridge, owned by a company called Coolebridge Ltd, will be used as temporary emergency accommodation for up to 12 people as part of a two-year contract.
