A WOMAN tragically fell 60 feet after slipping out of her safety harness while ziplining with her shocked family.

In the terrifying accident, 41-year-old Ghizlane Moutahir fell to her death on the 100km/h zipline after witnesses said they saw her start 'struggling' with the harness in the air.

The fatal equipment failure caused Ghizlane to collapse Italy'S Bitto Valley on Sunday afternoon.

Police saying she died immediately after impact.

Her two nieces, who were with the 41-year-old at the time of the accident, filmed the entire ordeal after completing the zipline course at the Fly Emotion park in Alpi Orobie near Bema.

Witnesses say she stopped on the wire rope and hung in the air for several seconds as she probably started to panic.

A police spokesperson said she then likely “began to struggle” when she realized she had stopped when her “feet” slipped off the safety mechanism beneath her.

He continued: “This led to her losing her balance and her falling approximately 20 meters from the harness into the woods below, killing her instantly.

“It is also possible that she had some sort of panic attack and was struggling as a result, or perhaps some other medical episode, but we are awaiting the post-mortem results.”

Paramedics and firefighters quickly rushed to the forest floor to try to rescue the woman.

Tragically, she was pronounced dead as soon as officials reached her.

An investigation has now been opened into the fatal accident, with officials examining the images of the two girls.

The spokesperson also noted that authorities will conduct thorough checks on the equipment used to see if a fault caused the ordeal.

The park was temporarily closed shortly after the death was first reported.

It is thought that hundreds of people were at the Fly Emotion park when Ghizlane fell to his death.

The section where Ghizlane fell was just the first part of a much longer trail where she had taken her two nieces one sunny afternoon.

Ghizlane's husband, Michele, stayed home due to a toothache, but was at the park immediately after hearing the tragic news. news.

Michele, who had been with his partner for almost ten years, said The Republic: “I should have been there with her too.

“I thought she just hurt herself, but now she's gone.”

'We are working with the authorities to try to understand what happened.

“The zipline opened 13 years ago and in that time more than 200,000 people have used it and there have never been any incidents. I am in shock and disbelief.”

The official Fly Emotion website is temporarily closed and only a statement is posted online.

It reads: “All activities have been temporarily suspended. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

One person who previously rode the zipline said: “I got chills when I read what happened.

“The first time we did the Fly was in 2016 and my youngest was eight. The news really hit me… I was waiting to see what would come out of the research.”
