A PLACE in the Sun’s Jasmine Harman has been flooded with support after her mom’s emotional struggle over hoarding.
The TV presenter, 47took to her Instagram account to share a very personal message with fans.
She revealed that her mother is a hoarder, which is a behavior where people collect food or other items.
Jasmine told fans how discussing the situation with her mother would only “inflame the situation” and make her “upset and angry.”
She continued, “But talking to someone more distant can help those on both sides of the equation gain a different perspective.
“People who hoard often don’t realize the fear and pain their behavior can cause their loved ones
“Similarly, those who hoard a loved one may often blame that person, not really understanding that they’re not doing it on purpose.”
The A Place in the Sun favorite added that she often wanted to keep her mom’s hoarding battle a secret from everyone else.
She encouraged her fans to reach out to her Hoarding Support community for information and to seek support for people they may know who are hoarders.
Fans were quick to respond to her message, as one of them commented, “I’m sending you hugs, really tough situation.”
