Former Emmerdale actor Micah Balfour has joined the BBC soap as Junior Knight, the son of George Knight (Colin Salmon) from his first wedding.

Although his family arrived last year, Junior is coming along for the first time.

In scenes airing this week, Anna (Molly Rainford) leaves a message for Junior after the death of their adoptive grandmother Gloria (Elizabeth Counsell).

George had discovered Gloria and adoptive father Eddie (Christopher Fairbank). lying to him all his life.

Meanwhile, George discovered that his parents were not Jamaicans, as he had been led to believe, but were in fact West African migrants who had given him up.
