Bill Skarsgard Movie Release Date Moved To September – The Hollywood Reporter

20e Century Studios and New Regency have delayed the release of horror film Barbarian of the dog days from August to September.

The film was set to open on August 31, 2022, but will now open on September 9, Walt Disney Studios announced Friday.

No reason was given for the move, but early September is a favorite date for horror releases. In fact, a few players of the film have found success in that space.

Barbarian plays Bill Skarsgård, who played Pennywise the Clown in New Line’s two-part adaptation of Stephen King‘s It Barbarian producer Roy Lee was one of the producers of the It movies. It and It Chapter Two were both released in a similar time frame on the calendar – September 8, 2017 for It6 Sept. 2019 for It Chapter Two — and became one of the biggest horror hits of all time.

Barbarian Georgina Campbell stars as a young woman, who, according to IMDB, arrives at her Airbnb late at night to discover that her rent has been accidentally double-booked and that a strange man (Skarsgård) is already staying there. Against her better judgement, she decides to stay overnight, but soon finds out that there is much more to be afraid of in the house than the other house guest.

The film is written and directed by Zach Cregger.

Disney and 20e Century released a trailer for the film two weeks ago. Check it below.
