A four-year-old boy was found dead after being swept away from his parents by Texas floodwaters storm.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, the boy and his parents were in a vehicle that became stuck in the water on County Road 528 in Burleson early Sunday.

A 911 caller around 2 a.m. said the child, a woman and a man were trying to walk on dry ground when they were caught floods.

First responders rescued the woman and man and transported them to a hospital around 5 a.m., the Johnson County Office of Emergency Management said.

A few hours later, first responders searching the high water found the boy dead.

He has been identified as Lucas Warren.

His grieving mother, Chelsey Warren, called him “my everything.”

“I can't sleep without him,” she said NBC5. “That's not possible, I do everything with him.”

Warren said she and her husband and son visited relatives at a Johnson County home Saturday evening and headed out early Sunday. They tried to drive through the water on the road and got stuck.

“My car battery died and then the car started filling with water, so we got Lucas out of his car seat,” Warren said.

The water knocked them over and Warren and her husband became separated. The mother said she had been treading on water for more than an hour to hold Lucas' head up.

“A current came up really high, and it just let go,” she said. “And I haven't heard from him. I think he just went down.”

Minutes later, a rescue boat spotted Warren and rushed her to a hospital.

“Then the sheriff came here and told me they found him,” Warren said. 'And that he looked very peaceful and that not all his clothes were torn. He looks like he just went to sleep.”

The mother described Lucas as a “smart, sweet, wonderful, wonderful boy.”

Coming up with money for Lucas' funeral has become even more complicated for the couple who lost their car, wallet and phone.

“They are in extreme need and anything you can contribute will be used to pay for Lucas' funeral,” the father's brother, Aaron Warren, wrote on one GoFundMe page.

The page had raised more than $38,000 as of Monday evening.

Burleson is located about 45 miles southwest of Dallas.
