Jenny Connor‘s (Sally Ann Matthews) day in Coronation Street has been a rollercoaster of emotions and now – she’s engaged to Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost)!
Jenny put on a brave face in the opening scenes of tonight’s episode, telling Rita (Barbara Knox) that she’s enjoyed her relationship with Leo, but if he goes to Canada, she’ll get over him soon enough.
Jenny grabbed a bottle of booze and drowned her sorrows as… desperate for money Stephen (Todd Boyce) watched, who had just discovered she was the sole owner of the pub.
Meanwhile, in the bistro, Rita and Gemma (Dolly Rose Campbell) had staged an intervention with Leo.
Jenny’s friends were sure that she still loved Leo and encouraged the engineer to focus on their future together and do something that will show Jenny that he takes their relationship seriously.
So he decided to make a proposal.
While Leo was buying a ring, Jenny and Stephen flirted in the back room of the pub.
And when we say flirt, oh boy, that’s what we mean.
like them For real Enjoying each other’s company, Gemma walked around the pub to find Jenny, leading up to the big moment with Leo.
When she opened the door, Gemma was stunned that Jenny and Stephen were playing almond tennis and they quickly returned, distracting Leo so he wouldn’t find out!
Finally Leo proposed, and of course Jenny said yes!
Jenny had to try to forget about Stephen as she prepared for her future in Canada with Leo, but things were very awkward.
In the bistro, Stephen sat in the background of Jenny, Leo, Rita and Gemma’s get-togethers, and that night even volunteered to help the couple move to Toronto.
