Elon Musk has said he and Apple boss Tim Cook have resolved the “misunderstanding” that Twitter may be removed from the app store. On Monday, Musk said Apple had stopped most ads on Twitter and accused the company of threatening to cut the ads social media platform of its Apple Store.

However, on Wednesday after meeting with Mr Cook, the Twitter boss tweeted: “Tim was clear Apple never considered this.”

The South African-born billionaire did not clarify whether advertising was being discussed during his meeting with the Apple boss.

It comes as many companies have cut spending on advertising on Twitter over concerns over Mr. Musk’s content moderation plan for the site.

This is a major blow to Twitter, which relies on advertising for the majority of its revenue.

The owner of Space X started the feud on Monday, accusing Apple of “censorship”.

The Tesla owner also criticized Apple’s policies, including the charges it has for purchases from its app store.

He said: “Apple has largely stopped advertising on Twitter.
