Emmerdale stars confirm outcome for Belle by abuser Tom | Soaps

Over a long period of time Emmerdale viewers have watched in horror as Tom King (James Chase)'s behavior towards wife Belle (Eden Taylor Draper) has become increasingly controlling and abusive.

An upcoming special episode of the soap, which will highlight a dinner party hosted by the couple for Tom's vet colleagues and their partners, will lift the lid on the cake. terrifying reality of Belle's life with Tom.

The format of the episode shows the drama from different perspectives, as Eden Taylor-Draper explained to us.

'In the first scene you see all the groups arriving and you think everything is great. It kind of goes on like that and you see snippets of it as a group and then at different points in the episode you see the reality of what's happening behind closed doors.

“The perspective of those at the dinner is completely different from what actually happens. It's like everyone is putting on a show for their friends, and then the audience becomes a fly on the wall and you see the reality of everyone's individual scenarios.”

Much of the action focuses on Rhona (Zoe Henry) and Marlon (Mark Charnock), whose relationship is on the brink of unraveling after Rhona's turn with Gus Malcolm (Alan McKenna). condemnation. This serves to distract the other guests – Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick), Suzy (Martelle Edinborough), Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and Mandy (Lisa Riley) so that no one notices the increasing tension between presenters Belle and Tom.

“I think you can expect everything to escalate throughout the episode,” Eden said. “You'll see how easily Tom can turn on and off and how he really feels and his anger towards Belle. You get a glimpse into Belle's terrifying reality.'

So far we've seen some extreme behavior from Tom, including tracking Belle's movements, feigning a burglary and taking her dog and attacking Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), but Belle, according to Eden, is unaware of it.

'Belle knows something isn't quite right, but when a situation arises, she completely blames herself and he does a great job of making her feel that way. I think before this episode, she just wants to make him happy, keep the peace, and just stay calm.”

Eden's co-star James Chase agreed that his character had done a good job of covering his tracks so far by poking fun at his wife, who he is “obsessed” with.

“He's so good at turning it on her and I think when that's drilled into her constantly, every day for everything, it's easy for her to believe she's to blame,” he said.

'No one has any idea. Tom is a master of performances, able to hide his true feelings and convey something completely different to get people on his side. Plus, Rhona and Marlon's increasing tension only helps to obscure Tom and Belle's true situation.”

Behind the scenes of the dinner, however, disturbing scenes are taking place. “We see two storylines from different relationships come to an intense climax,” James said.

'It's exciting to have them collide like this, but it may also be difficult. [We] watch the dark reality of their relationship come to light.”
