Four new characters have been confirmed to make their appearance in Casualty soon, with Holby City’s Donna Jackson also swapping main hospital wards for the ED.

Bradley Walsh’s son, Barney Walsh (Death in Paradise, The Larkins), Anna Chell (The Bay), Sarah Seggari (Jerk, I Hate Suzie) and Eddie-Joe Robinson (Grantchester, Small Axe) will play Cameron, Jodie, Rida and Ryan – four brand new nurses.

The cast shake-up comes after big exits during last week’s episode, which featured the death of Robyn (Amanda Henderson) and the departure of David (Jason Durr) and Marty (Shaheen Jafargholi).

So, let’s meet the new faces.

Cameron is like a fish out of water, extremely accident-prone, and lacks self-confidence, two traits that certainly won’t help him when working on the busy ED. He arrives at Holby and realizes he may have bitten off more than he can chew, but will he find his footing?

Jodie is outgoing and quick-witted and hopes for a fresh start in her new role. However, her plan is quickly destroyed when she meets a face from her past, leaving her with the difficult task of keeping her personal and professional life separate.

And then there is Rida. Open-hearted and confident, she knows exactly what she wants, but is that a blessing or a curse? Will working in the ED be the thing that unlocks a softer side for her?

We also meet Ryan. He’s ambitious and was seen as Mr Popular at school, so yes, he gets quite a shake up when he goes to Holby.

In a brilliant twist, the four new faces – who we’ll see in April – are joined by Donna (Jaye Jacobs), who has now taken on the role of ward nurse.

We haven’t seen Donna in almost a year now, because of to Holby City last March ended forever.

Since it stopped, Holby characters have been mentioned in episodes, and we even did seen Fletch (Alex Walkinshaw) And Sacha (Bob Barrett) on the show — and we can’t wait to see Donna again.

On joining the cast, Barney said, “Joining the cast of Casualty alongside Anna, Sarah, JJ and Eddie has been an incredible experience. It’s a real pleasure to come to work every day and play Cam. Can’t wait for viewers to meet Nurse Cam when he arrives at Holby’s and soon realizes he may have bitten off more than he can chew!’

Anna Chell revealed: ‘It’s been an absolute buzz so far, the team at Casualty are SO welcoming! Joining the others was such a beautiful experience, we built a great bond and friendship – filming scenes with those guys is always a laugh! Jodie is a joy to play. Fun, flirty and always up for a night out, she often pushes her emotions aside with a vodka tonic!

‘Jodie is hard-faced, strong and often lets her brains drop out of her mouth, but nevertheless she’s great at her job and quite shocked on her first shift! I’m so thankful I brought Jodie back to life and I’m excited about what’s in store for her!”

Sarah Seggari said: ‘It’s an honor to play the first hijab-wearing Muslim nurse on Casualty. I can’t wait to show the viewers who Rida is, she is the strength and the mother in the group. She has no problem putting people in their place, even if it may come across as abrasive, but she will always be true to her friends. Essentially she is a caregiver and wants to help, this is paramount every time she has a patient to work with, even if sometimes it is not according to protocol. She’s got a fire behind her that I hope you enjoy!’.

Eddie-Joe Robinson added: ‘Participating in Casualty has been such a fantastic experience. I immediately felt part of the family, and now that I’ve joined JJ, Sarah, Anna, and Barney, it’s become even more special.

‘You can expect a lot of fun and chatter with his fellow nurses from Ryan, which he sometimes takes a little too far… He is self-assured to the point of being arrogant, and when this is combined with his ambitious nature it can certainly get him in hot water. bring hangers. water. There’s a softer side to his bravado, though, and I like to think he’s often a little misunderstood!’

And Jaye Jacobs commented, “I’m thrilled to be part of such a legendary show.”

Jon Sen, executive producer of Casualty for BBC Studios said: ‘We are delighted to introduce these exciting new characters to Casualty fans. Jodie, Cam, Rida and Ryan are a breath of fresh air – they bring hope, heart, humor, warmth and irreverence to the ED. We are sure that the public will love them as much as we already do.’
