Irish weather: Met Éireann predicts a largely dry Bank Holiday Sunday with sunny spells and only isolated showers

Met Éireann has forecast a largely dry day across most of the country, with sunny spells and only isolated showers.

Over Ulster it will be quite cloudy with the occasional chance of some rain or drizzle in the northern half of the province.

During the day it will become cloudy in the southern coastal areas, with a chance of some rain or drizzle along the southern coasts.

Maximum temperatures today are between 13 and 17 degrees and a light northeasterly wind is expected.

Clouds and outbreaks of rain and drizzle will spread from the north tonight, but it will remain mainly dry with clear spells in the southeast.

The lowest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees are expected tonight with a weak to moderate northwest wind.

Monday will be a mainly cloudy day with occasional spells of rain and drizzle, but it will become dry in the evening and sunny spells may develop in some places.

The highest temperatures are expected between 11 and 16 degrees, with a weak to moderate northerly wind.

Monday night will remain largely dry with clear spells, although it will remain mainly cloudy in the northwest.

With a weak northerly wind it will be 6 to 9 degrees cold.

Tuesday looks set to be a brighter and drier day with cloudy conditions in the west in the morning giving way to good sunshine.

The highest temperatures are between 12 and 17 degrees with a weak north wind.

Tuesday night will be dry with clear periods for much of the night and lowest temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees.

Wednesday will be clear and largely dry with long spells of sunshine, with isolated patches of rain and drizzle possible in the west. Highest temperatures of 13 to 19 degrees are expected, with a weak to moderate south to southwest wind.

It will remain mainly dry at night with long clear periods, with some showers spreading to the east in the northwest. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees are predicted, with a weak to moderate southwest wind.

Thursday will be a largely dry day with isolated showers in the northern half of the country. It will also likely be mostly cloudy with occasional sunny spells and highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees.
