A massive fire has broken out in a Staffordshire town, with residents ordered to evacuate immediately.

Footage shows plumes of smoke rising into the air near the Orbital Islands retail park in Cannock.

Staffordshire Firework and Rescue Service said in a message uploaded to X: 'We have 10 fire engines on site, supported by specialist equipment and officers.

“There are some road closures.”

The fire brigade has called on everyone to close their windows due to the high smoke development.

All companies near the retail park have been asked to evacuate.

There are also some road closures.

Dozens of firefighters are trying to battle the blaze in the city northwest of Birmingham.

Residents of surrounding estates have reported seeing smoke in the air.

The building is reportedly close to Sainsburys.
