Meg Ryan, 62, Looks Ageless at the Met Gala, Her First Attendance in 23 Years

Hollywood icon And Ryan made her first Met Gala appearance since her debut in the early 2000s.

The 62-year-old star kept things classic and chic rather avant-garde look, with varying degrees of success a cruel audience.

Meg beamed positively at the fashion event of the year in her black dress with a see-through bodice, covered in black flowers with sparkling details.

She and guest Michael Kors added Aviator sunglasses that gave a rock edge to her chic dress, turquoise Cartier earrings and signature short blonde hair.

Her last foray to the Met Gala was in 2001, where the theme was inspired by Jackie Kennedy'sWhite House Years'.

At the time, she attended with her Kate & Leopold co-star Liev Schreiber, having just split from ex-husband Dennis Quaid.

The Top Gun actress and Parent Trap star finalized their divorce in July and share a son, Jack Quaid.

Meg's return comes after she shared how much she loves life and felt “liberated” by her age at the age of 60.

'I appreciate my years, I say that seriously. 'I appreciate my age. For me now it is more important to say clearly what you think, instead of trying to please others and trying to make everyone happy,” she said. I woman.

'And because you try to be honest. I can finally look back and be in the present at the same time.'

Despite her accolades, Meg had taken a step back from starring in films as she needed a “break” to explore life outside of Hollywood.

After an eight-year absence, she returned to film What Happens Later last year, but said her work-life balance was much better.

'I needed different experiences, to meet people outside the film industry. For this reason, I moved to New York, raised my daughter Daisy and started traveling, especially to faraway countries,” she said.

Speak with Metro.nl about her return to Hollywood, she revealed she hasn't slept a wink before her first day on set.

Meg said, “I haven't slept – I've never not slept a whole night in my life, except maybe jet lag at one point. But the night before we started shooting, I didn't sleep a wink.'

As co-writer and director, in addition to playing the erratic Willa to David Duchovny's more tense and anxious Bill, there was a lot on Ryan's shoulders during the 21 days of filming at a working airport.

“I just felt like we can't be valuable with this and we have to use our time. So I kept pretending there was a director outside the building, maybe sitting in a trailer, and we could do whatever we wanted and catch up with him or her about it,” she explained.
