Met Gala 2024: Doja Cat Wears a TOWEL! Rapper rocks fresh-out-of-shower look on his way to New York's biggest fashion night

Doja cat is known for pushing boundaries as an artist and Guram Gvasalia is known for the same in the fashion world, so it was only natural that the two Join forces on fashion's biggest night.

The 28-year-old rapper – born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini – donned a towel as she boldly wore couture fresh out of the shower on her way to the star-studded Met Gala in New York City on Monday.

She stood on the red carpet together with the creative director of Vetements and brother Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia, who is known for disrupting the fashion world, and this latest look was no exception.

She wore what appeared to be a mini dress made of white towels, wrapped around her body, from the Swiss luxury fashion house and 'design collective'.

Her hair was wrapped in a headpiece that resembled a white towel that matched her dress.

The Woman hitmaker definitely has an affinity for the dramatic, as she wore shimmering black eye makeup that resembled mascara running down her face.

She dressed up with a large diamond-encrusted necklace and dangling gold earrings.

Guram looked fashionable in a loose black suit with glittering silver details.

Keeping up with the shower look Doja donned a different ensemble as she left her hotel earlier in the evening.

She wore a sheer poncho – which resembled a shower curtain and/or a bouffant hat – over a nude catsuit.

Many undoubtedly believed this would be her Met look, but she changed it up in time for the star-studded affair.

The Costume Institute's Spring Exhibition falls on the first Monday in May each year and is held on New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This year the event is called Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, while the dress code is The Garden of Time.

Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Bad bunny And Chris Hemsworth are this year's co-chairs. Vogue's is also on the committee Anna Wintour.

The chairs of honor for the evening are Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew.

'This year's co-chairs reflect a variety of career achievements and all have different style histories with the Met Gala', Vogue shared.

The display will feature approximately 250 items from The Costume Institute's permanent collection. Many of the pieces are too fragile to ever be worn again.

The pieces are all rendered using elements such as AI, GCI and more, while themes such as land, sea and sky are played out.

“It is very much an ode to nature and the emotional poetics of fashion,” says Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu Curator responsible for The Costume Institute, about the upcoming exhibition.

“One thing I hope this show will activate is the sensory appreciation of fashion.”

Expected guests include the Kardashians, Blake Lively, Hailey Bieber, Sarah Jessica Parker and Timothee Chalamet.

Gwendoline Christie, La La Anthony and Ashley Graham will host, while YouTuber Emma Chamberlain will be in attendance expect him to interview stars on the red carpet.

Last year's gala honored the late designer Karl Lagerfeld.
