Nicki Minaj wears an artsy yellow Marni dress

Nicki Minaj's whimsical Marni minidress popped with petal power at the 2024 Met Gala.

The “Pink Friday” rapper stepped out in an artsy yellow dress adorned with recycled metal flowers. Her museum-worthy silhouette had a striking brushstroke-like texture, giving the impression of a 3D oil painting. The Italian stood by her side fashion the house's creative director, Francesco Risso.

Minaj completed her custom Technicolor look with her own line of Pink Friday press-on nails — in a decidedly understated style. light pink almond shape – and a matching clutch with chain strap.

Minaj made her red carpet debut at the Met Gala in 2013 when she wore a navy blue Tommy Hilfiger dress. This year marks her seventh time attending the fundraiser; she previously wore Prabal Gurung, Riccardo Tisci for Burberry, Jeremy Scott and H&M to the event.

This year's dress code, 'The Garden of Time', is inspired by the Short story from 1962 with the same name by JG Ballard, which fits in nicely with the newest Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute exhibition, Sleeping Beauty: Fashion Reawakening, which opens to the public on Friday, May 10. Curated by Andrew Bolton, the show highlights fragile pieces from the institute's archives, all viewed through a lens of nature. From the exhibition coffee table book will be released on June 18.
