Offers: Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and S23 FE prices drop

Last week a 512GB Galaxy S24 Ultra was $1,220, now it's $50 lower on both Amazon and Best Buy. The 256GB model continues to cost $1,100 and doubling the storage is well worth the $70 if you ask us. It will help the phone's longevity (it will be supported for seven years) as the operating system and apps will continue to grow in the coming years.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE (8/128 GB) cost $600 end of April, now that model is $50 lower. The same goes for the 8/256GB version, which now costs just $610.

The OnePlus 12R has been priced at $530 for a while now – this is for the 16GB RAM and 256GB storage version – but the S23 FE's price drop forced us to compare the two models again. The 12R has a lot going for it, like an LTPO display and a more modern Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset (vs. 8 Gen 1), not to mention a battery that's 1,000 mAh larger and faster to charge.

Meanwhile, Samsung is gearing up to launch its next generation of foldable devices (shortly before the Olympics start). This could be the last hurray for the Galaxy Z Fold5 – it still has a pretty high price, but now Amazon is offering a $300 gift card to sweeten the deal even more. Or you might want to wait a few months to see what the Z Fold6 looks like, plus any FE models that might arrive and (of course) the Z Fold5 prices might drop.

We may see new TWS buttons from Apple in the upcoming ones iPad-focused event on Tuesday, as the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) are long in the tooth. They are still very capable buds and have the best integration with Apple products and are currently $60 less than their MSRP. Please note: this is with a case with USB-C charging port (and MagSafe for wireless charging).

If you have an Android or just don't want AirPods, you can get the Bose QuietComfort Eabuds II for almost the same price. They have great sound and active noise cancellation and are comfortable to wear. On the other hand, they lack wireless charging and multi-point connectivity.

Announced a few weeks ago, the Insta360 X4 is the company's first 8K 360° camera. The extra resolution offers more detail as you reduce the field of view, but you can also get higher frame rates at 5.3K and 4K than the X3 can handle.

Chromebooks have carved out a niche as cheap laptops that are quite good for some applications (they're popular in schools, for example). Some are really cheap – this Acer one costs just $140, which is less than even cheap Android tablets like the Amazon Fire Max 11 (and this is before you buy a keyboard case).

It's definitely not a great laptop, as the 15.6-inch screen has a resolution of just 1,366 x 768 px. Plus, the Intel Celeron N4020 is a pretty weak chip with 2 cores (2 threads), it doesn't help that it's paired with only 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage. But then again, it only costs $140 and it doesn't look that bad when you compare it to cheap Android tablets.

For something a little more luxurious, but still reasonably priced, this Asus has a 14-inch touchscreen (1,920 x 1,080px) and a 360° hinge that allows it to turn into a tablet of sorts. It has a more powerful AMD Ryzen 3 processor (7320C) with 4 cores (8 threads) and a more powerful Radeon iGPU. It is paired with 8GB of faster RAM and a 128GB SSD.

There's talk of a PS5 Pro, but that hasn't been released yet, so if you want a new console, the PlayStation 5 Slim is what Sony has to offer. For some reason, the disc version and the digital version cost the same – $450 – and the disc version comes with a copy of Spider-Man 2 (it's a digital download). We'll keep an eye on the digital version in case Best Buy drops in price.
