An eagle-eyed customer spotted the famous drink on the shelves, selling at a discounted price.

They shared a photo of the drink with fellow shoppers on the website Facebook Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK page and wrote: “Prime [selling for] 49p at Herons Food, Branshlome Centre.”

Fellow customers flocked to the comments section to mock the once infamously expensive drink that now sells for 49 cents.

One such shopper said: “[It has] fallen out of favor.”

Another wrote: “Finally at a price it deserves.”

While a third shared: “How the mighty fell didn't last long, did it?”

Prime – a product line from sport- drinks, drink mixes and energy drinks – has been a huge success since its release by YouTubers KSI And Logan Paul in 2022.

The drink's popularity grew after that YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI promoted the drink during high-profile celebrity boxing fights in Britain.

The duo came up with the idea for coconut water-based Prime Hydration after their last boxing match in 2019.

During a livestream, the pair said they wanted to emulate “the biggest companies in the world” with their products, including “Pepsi, Coke, Gatorade and Powerade.”

The most recent batch of drinks was sold in 11 flavors, including blue raspberry, tropical punch and grape.

The drinks were particularly popular with schoolboys and teenagers and sold like hotcakes during their first year of production.

The £1.99 viral had a product shopping public queuing for hours to get their hands on the drink that contains mainly water, mixed with vitamins and minerals, with few calories and no added sugar.

Many people even opted to buy in bulk to resell the drink online for eye-watering prices, with fans willing to pay top dollar to get their hands on one.

On Facebook Marketplace, bottles have been offered for ten times the original price tagsome of which sold for £25 each, while one person sold four for £50.

One woman even admitted it spending a whopping £1,200 on 12 cans of Prime drink after traveling 25 miles to find it.

In the big streets, stores have ordered by boat to meet customer requirements.

Just a few months ago, BrandMax in Shirebrook, Nottinghamshire, flogged the bottled drink at a deep discount as customers joked, it was no longer popular.

Many shoppers were amused at how the notoriously expensive drink was now being flogged as cheaply as possible.

One person joked: “It sucks for those who overpaid.”

Another added: “Shout out to the people buying bottles for £10+.”

A third user said: “All those shipping containers from PRIME all coming in at the same time, creating a glut!!! Will soon be cheaper than own brand Coke!!!”

One person even went so far as to say that stores sell them for 50 cents “because no one wants them.”
