According to the report, the 46th President of the United States had promised 500,000 EV charging stations in the country by the year 2030. Moreover, the plan was made to stimulate public confidence in electric cars. Yet it has failed to achieve a significant increase in the number of charging stations as we move closer to mid-2024.

President Biden's investments in electric vehicles are hugely disappointing

The United States is entering a critical juncture as the 2024 elections quickly approach. This will set Joe Biden up for re-election as he will likely face his predecessor, Donald Trump, in 2020. However, the current president will have to deal with some rather disappointing decisions.

One of these is President Joe Biden's $7.5 billion EV investment, which has delivered just seven stations over the past two years. The White House had implemented the plan to combat pollution from gas-powered cars. However, the plan for 500,000 charging stations by 2030 has had a very poor rollout.

The multibillion-dollar plan passed by Congress has been implemented in only four states. Moreover, the poorly executed plan will coincide with new government car and truck emissions regulations. Indeed, the White House is trying to fill the roads with more electric vehicles and hybrids.

However, the plan has not yet given the market confidence. Therefore, Biden's ambitious EV transition could face extensive problems. What was once heralded as a huge step toward climate change has become a new basis for inaction. With elections just six months away, situations like this could have crucial consequences.
