Putin nightmare: Ukraine storms Antonovsky bridge during nighttime raid – Russians CLOSE | World | News

The bridge is a vital supply line for Russian troops on the western banks of the Dnipro River. If the bridge is destroyed, Putin’s forces are cut off and the face is wiped out. Previous strikes had already made the bridge almost unusable for military vehicles.

The Ukrainians are said to have used HIMARS in this most recent attack, which was captured on video.

Images show a bright orange ball of thick black smoke rising to the sky while part of the bridge is on fire.

You can hear the Russian air defense systems activate while futile attempts are made to shoot down the incoming rounds.

Social media users were quick to mock Russian troops’ failed attempts to thwart the attack.

Jay in Kiev wrote: “The futility of the multiple attempts of the Russian air defense, several absolute precision strikes by the Ukrainian HiMARS early this morning on the Antonovsky bridge.

“Incredible accuracy. Russia can do nothing.”

MilitaryLand noted: “Night work of the Ukrainian HIMARS on the #Antonovsky Bridge near #Kherson.

“Russian forces tried to intercept the missiles, but were unable to do so.”

In one of its recent daily bulletins, the British Ministry of Defense confirmed the damage the bridge has suffered from previous attacks.

They wrote: “The two primary road bridges giving access to the Russian-occupied area on the western bank of the Dnipro in Kherson Oblast are now probably out of use for significant military supplies.

“On August 10, 2022, Ukrainian precision strikes likely rendered the road crossing of the Dnipro River near Nova Kakhovka useless for heavy military vehicles.

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace announced last week that Britain would send three more of the deadly weapon systems to Ukraine.

Oleksii Reznikov confirmed that the new batch of M270 MLRS had already arrived in a cheerful tweet on Saturday morning.

He wrote: “UK promised, UK delivered! More M270 MLRS arrived in Ukraine.

Thanks to Ben Wallace and all the Brits! Your support is amazing and so important to Ukraine.

“Our military will skillfully use this ‘addition’ on the battlefield.”
