Racket Club update adds two courts, ball cannons and more

VR sports game Racket Club introduces two new courts, a ball cannon and more in a free update.

After launching last December, Resolution Games has delivered a substantial release Racket club patch, the 'Nice courts' update. That adds a new, wider playing field and a 'Spinminton' court, a ball cannon that players can use on any court, an increased maximum player level and new clothing. Further changes include a push-to-talk function, the ability to explore the club at dusk and tuning knobs for racket adapters.

It's the second major Racket Club content update we've seen so far, following the 'New twist' update. Notably, that added unranked online competitions, new Singles exercises in training mode, and a new points system that lets you choose single-point rallies or stick to the Ultra Rally approach.

Last year we awarded Racket Club 4/5 stars judgement. We praised Resolution's approach to creating a social sports club mentality, believing it offers “something familiar yet refreshingly different”.

By combining elements of tennis, squash and pickleball, they have delivered an original experience that feels refreshing while playing with the immersive powers of VR. While the solo content is limited and mixed reality support seems redundant, a highly immersive social multiplayer experience keeps me coming back for more.

Racket Club is now available on the Meta-quest platform, Pico And Steam.
