Suspected gas explosion sweeps through house on residential street as paramedics rush to scene and homes evacuated

Police evacuated a number of homes after a suspected gas explosion ripped through a home on a residential street.

Police have warned people to stay away from the crime scene in Evesham, West Mids, following the blast.

It is not known if anyone was in the home at the time of the incident.

The road has been closed off by emergency services.

West Mercia Police tweeted: “Emergency services are responding to a suspected gas explosion at a house on Hemmingway in Evesham, Worcestershire.

“We ask that you stay away from the area while we respond, and we will update you as soon as possible.”
