Tottenham vs Eintracht player ratings: Richarlison clumsy and careless in patchy performance

The visitors had the better opening against the Europa League winners, but were too often disappointed by their final ball and finish, as their stuttering form continued on the road in Europe.

Dan Kilpatrick was at Deutsche Bank Park to judge the Spurs players…

Hugo Lloris 7

Quickly off his leash to eliminate danger, even if his clearances were erratic. Made a smart stop to deny Ansgar Knauff in his only significant involvement.

Christian Romero 6

Unusually shaky when playing from behind, leaving Bentancur in trouble before a chance for Jesper Lindstrom.

Eric Dier 7

Couldn’t handle some high balls but was there to eliminate danger when it was most needed.

Clemens Lenglet 7

Looked the most comfortable of the back three in an assured view. Occasionally forward to overlap Perisic.

Emerson Royal 6

Spurs’ most frequent outlet in the first half, and was involved in their best moves. Still looks rare to deliver a last ball and faded after the break.

Peter-Emile Hojbjerg

Tactically disciplined, often dropping to join the mid-half, and pressing with and without the ball.

Rodrigo Bentancur 7

Carried the ball well and joined Hojbjerg who occasionally fell back to let the fullbacks come forward. A hairy moment when he was seized of Romero’s hospital card.

Ivan Perisic 6

Saw a deflected attempt dribbling past the post in the first half, but otherwise calm on his return to Germany, chopping the final 20 minutes for Sessegnon.

richarlison 5

Clumsy and careless in possession, but created a few chances for Son.

Heung-min son 5

The final ball and touch were missing on another difficult night for the Korean, but he was brisk. Lost a good chance in the first half to set up Kane and fired a few tries wide.

Harry Kane 5

Closed with a low drive in the first half, but not at his best on the ball or in the last third.

Subscribers

Returned from injury for the last 15 minutes and looking solid.
