Charlie Coxis new Netflix series Betrayal may be worlds away from his role as Daredevilbut a sneaky Marvel Easter Egg is spotted in an instant and you miss it.

In the actor’s new project, created by Bridge of Spies screenwriter Matt Charman, he leads the cast as Adam Lawrence, a high-ranking MI6 officer who’s been named acting chief of agency, before being accused of being a double agent.

From 2015 to 2018, Charlie became a Marvel fan favorite in Netflix’s Daredevil, a role he reprized on the ensemble-led show The Defenders.

Following the cancellation of Daredevil on the streaming platform, it was confirmed that the 40-year-old will return in a brand new production called Daredevil: Born Again on Disney Plus.

The very welcome news came after he made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut last year in Spider-Man: No Way Home, shortly before resurfacing as Matt Murdock in She-Hulk.

Given the high anticipation surrounding Charlie’s future in the MCU, it should come as no surprise that an unexpected Marvel nod in Treason has turned out to be very exciting for fans.

In the third episode of the program, Charlie’s character Adam enjoys a cozy evening at home with his wife Maddy de Costa (Oona Chaplin), daughter Ella (Beau Gadsdon) and son Callum (Samuel Leakey).

The family plays the game where you have to stick a character’s name on your forehead and guess who you are, while Adam struggles to deduce that he is Cleopatra.

When it’s Ella’s turn, she tapes “Spider-Man” to her head, before asking if she has a fictional character.

Considering Charlie’s return as Daredevil was officially confirmed in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the Easter Egg has gone down a treat with some viewers on Twitter.

“I laughed,” one person tweeted alongside a screenshot of the scene, while another shouted, “THE SPIDER-MAN EASTER EGG.”

During a recent conversation with Metro.nlCharlie opened up about his hopes for Daredevil: Born Again and revealed that he would love for She-Hulk star Tatiana Maslany to appear.

“I’ve made no secret of the fact that I’m a huge fan of Tatiana’s and the fun we had with She-Hulk was some of the most fun I’ve had as that character,” he said.

“I thought she was great as Jennifer Walters, and I would be a huge…definitely supportive of her performing on our show if she’s free and available and willing and all those things. So I would really like that to happen. I have no idea if that’s possible.’

Treason can be seen on Netflix.
