Ukrainian opponents to show solidarity after the family was “bombed from their apartment”

Angelina Karinina sets up a second round match against Ukrainian compatriot Lesia Tsurenko, and after the block of the apartment was bombed, Wimbledon’s prize money now lives “in a bag” with family and friends. It was revealed that the money will be sent to.

Karinina and Tsurenko are also discussing a highly open display of solidarity when they meet on Wednesday. Tsurenko is keen to clarify that Wimbledon will be visible on the court, following the ban on all Russian and Belarusian players.

Carinina put a yellow and blue ribbon on the kit bag, revealing that the family apartment was bombed, “Thank God. They are alive. They are safe. But they are. I live in a bag like many other Ukrainians. I don’t know what will happen tomorrow. There is a big hole in my house. I don’t have an apartment anymore.

“So they live in my apartment where I live with my husband. It’s a very small apartment for my family .. my mother, father, brothers, and they have pets It’s hard to concentrate, but it’s important to me. If I win or lose, I’m not only helping my family, I’m helping other families.

“I am greatly helping my grandmother and grandfather in the occupied territories. They cannot leave. Next to me is a Russian soldier with all the troops.”
