Viktor (Elliot Page) came to his family as his true self, as he was reunited with the superpower Harlan (Callum Keith Rennie), whom he first met in the 1960s as a child, when he fell in love with the mother of the boy, Sissy (Marin Ireland).

Luther (Tom Hopper) eventually found love with a Sparrow adversary after meeting gravity-defying Sloane (Genesis Rodriguez), while Diego (David Castañeda) also had a reunion when he crossed paths with his love interest Lila (Ritu Arya) once again. …and their alleged son, Stanley (Javon Walton).

Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman) was devastated to discover that her daughter Claire (Jordan Claire Robbins) did not exist in the new reality after parting ways with her husband Ray (Yusuf Gatewood), whom she had spent the years with. sixty married.

As always, Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) had a secret plan that no one else was aware of, enlisting the help of the Hargreeves and the Sparrows to try and reset the universe to an alternate dimension known as Oblivion.

The final moments of the season revealed the aftermath of their mission… with an intriguing post-credits scene that teased an interesting journey for a particular character.

From Hotel Obsidian to Oblivion

In season three of The Umbrella Academy, Hotel Obsidian is explained away as a place where anyone can stay, free of judgment or – in some cases – fear, where they can hide from the world, without question being asked.

However, it turns out to have much more significance than just being an old hotel, as Reginald built the property in the early 20th century after discovering the location of a portal to another dimension above ground in a field.

Reginald builds his hotel around this portal, with the passage eventually leading into Hotel Obsidian’s luxurious Buffalo Suite.

As Hargreeves’ siblings discover, the door in the suite leads to an almost identical but mirrored room in another dimension – called Oblivion.

Reginald explains that with another apocalypse imminent, seven people must go through the tunnel to Hotel Oblivion and ring the “seven bells” protected by a deadly Guardian so they can reset the universe.

It’s much easier said than done, of course… but they eventually manage to find the seven places to stand on, with Viktor, Diego, Lila, Sloane, Klaus, Ben and Five being the chosen ones to follow through. to go.

Their powers charge the reset button, but Allison – who told Reginald not to participate so she could survive – decides to save her siblings’ lives after realizing the process was exhausting them.

She kills Reginald and pushes the button herself, resulting in another series of mysterious events.

Real Alien Identity and Motive of Reginald Hargreeves Revealed

All the way back in season one of The Umbrella Academy, viewers became aware that Reginald was holding more than meets the eye after watching a flashback scene of him and his wife, Abigail (Lisa Repo Martell), way back in the day. an unknown location, most likely another planet or dimension.

Reginald was confirmed to be an alien to the show’s audience, and season two also revealed his interdimensional form.

However, it wasn’t until the third season that Hargreeves’ siblings learned this truth for themselves, with Luther being killed by Reginald’s tentacle and Allison killing her adoptive father to reveal his green, inhuman entrails.

Although Luther’s original mission to the moon seemed futile, in fact it turned out that he could provide protection for Abigail’s corpse, which Reginald had kept.

Despite being killed in Oblivion by Allison, Reginald is revealed in the closing moments of season three with Abigail in the new reality, overseeing the city that appears to have been built mostly by him.

So his whole motivation to reset the universe in Oblivion, with the help of the powers of Hargreeves and Lila’s siblings, seems to have been to bring his wife back to life… suggesting that that was his reason. to adopt seven super-powered babies in the first place.

Klaus – and apparently Luther – are resurrected

Each season, the magnitude of Klaus’ powers has continued to grow, with the eccentric character discovering that he is capable of so much more than he ever realized.

In the most recent episodes, he learns that not only can he communicate with the dead and create appearances from them for other people to see in the living world, but he can also be resurrected himself.

This explains why he survived death so many times in his life – although at the time he thought these were near-death experiences, rather than actual death experiences.

After Reginald kills Luther, the strongman ends up in the afterlife with Klaus, and when Klaus returns to the hotel, he can summon Luther so he and Sloane can say goodbye, as they’ve only just gotten married.

However, when the universe is reset and a new reality is revealed, Luther appears to be alive and well… and Sloane is nowhere to be seen.

Could Luther have taken Sloane’s place?

The Hargreeves reach a new reality again

Speaking of this new reality, little is known about it so far.

It closely mirrors other realities we’ve seen, except there are multiple buildings bearing the Hargreeves name, implying that Reginald is a titan in this universe in control of the city.

When Hargreeves and Lila’s siblings arrive, they realize they are all missing their powers.

Additionally, after one is cut off by the Guardian in Oblivion, Five has both arms, while Luther is no longer an ape-human hybrid, the form he has taken since season one following a life-changing procedure performed by Pogo.

Allison rushes home to be reunited with her daughter Claire, where she also discovers her husband Ray, while Lila and Diego set out on their own to live their lives before welcoming their baby.

Could it be that this reality is based on everyone’s greatest desires? Is it purgatory? Your guess is just as good as ours.

What does scene after credits mean?

Midway through the credits for the season three finale, a post-credits scene featuring Ben plays.

After the season started with the scene where his mother became pregnant and gave birth to him on a train in South Korea, this scene reflects that, with Ben riding the same subway in Seoul.

Ben is extremely neat looking, wearing a suit, jacket and glasses and reading a book.

But what could it mean? Is this the Sparrow Academy version of Ben or another version of the character from another universe? Why is he back in South Korea?

We’re eager to find out more… and are thrilled that the (hopeful) fourth season of The Umbrella Academy could literally go either way. Way to keep us sharp!

The Umbrella Academy is available on Netflix.
