OUTSTANDING union barons will be forced to present employer wage agreements to their members, rather than rejecting them outright.

Chancellor Quasi Quarteng will announce in its hard new legislation mini budget which is designed to prevent industrial action from dragging on.

Ministers are increasingly concerned that pay packages are being rejected by hardline union bosses without the consent of their members.

The new law, which could come into effect next spring, will hopefully end disagreements more easily, the ministers believe.

The move comes after the RMT turned down an 8% offer from Network Rail leading to chaotic strike action this summer.
