Utah ‘Karen’ is seen in incredible new police bodycam reenacting the moment she yanked 19-year-old girl’s miniskirt down in steakhouse to cover her vagina and butt cheeks – as she claims ‘everyone behind me applauded’

Police-worn body camera footage shows the moment a Utah woman was arrested days after she yanked on a teenager’s skirt in a trendy restaurant in an apparent attempt to make the 19-year-old cover up.

The sequence of new clips show 48-year-old Ida Ann Lorenzo being interrogated and eventually cuffed on one charge of sexual battery over the April 20 skirt-pulling incident in the lobby of Sakura Japanese Steakhouse.

Lorenzo had allegedly approached a group of teenage girls before telling one that if she has to watch her ‘a** cheeks hanging out again’ and see her pubic hair, she would call Child Protective Services.

The woman, dubbed ‘Karen’ for her gall, reportedly came up behind the girl and tugged her skirt down to cover her modesty – with the incident filmed by one of the unnamed victim’s friends and posted on TikTok where it went viral.

The 19-year-old victim is seen in a different section of the new clips telling cops how she felt ‘violated’ by the unsanctioned display.

In another part of the new footage, which shows her April 24 arrest, Lorenzo expresses shock when an officer tells her she is now being taken into custody.

‘You are going to arrest me?’ she says in the clip, during which she reenacted how she ‘harmlessly’ tugged at the girl’s skirt.

‘I should have called the police at that time. I should have reported it,’ she adds, in footage filmed from the St George Police Department on April 22.

‘You would do whatever you needed to do, but that wasn’t going to resolve the issue,’ she goes on to claim. ‘It would have taken you probably forever to get there.’

She then addresses the accusation against her, recalling how the victim and her friends accused her ‘of sexually inappropriately touching one of them.’

‘Did you touch her?’ an officer asks – to which Lorenzo replies: ‘No, I didn’t.’

The assertion appears to perplex the eventual arresting officer, who proceeds to point out how moments before, she seemingly admitted to the opposite.

‘I thought you said you pulled her skirt down,’ the off-screen officer asks.

‘I touched her skirt, but I didn’t touch her.’

When asked why she took the matter into her own hands, she responds: ‘[I was] protecting the kids by covering the private parts.’

The officer, in turn, replies: ‘Correct, but that’s not your job to do.’

Lorenzo, meanwhile, continues to insist she did the right thing, as the cop continues to press her.

‘I’m trying to understand why you went up and you touched her,’ he asks, two days before her arrest in the same building. ‘You can see how that looks right?’

‘I didn’t touch her as a person,’ she again insists, before haphazardly reenacting the offense.

The officer eventually lets her go – before questioning two of the teens about exactly what happened.

The section of the footage, provided to ABC4.com, was filmed at the sheriff’s office the following day, with both of the girl’s faces censored to protect their privacy.

In it, she tells the officer she was waiting in the restaurant’s lobby when Lorenzo came up behind her – yanking her skirt and eventually pulling it downward.

The legal adult tells the officer how she could feel ‘someone’s cold hands against my skin’ before turning around – coming face to face with her accoster.

The teen recalled how she initially thought it was one of her friends having fun, and how stunned she was to see it was a middle-aged woman whom she did not know.

‘Not even the physical side of things, but mentally,’ she said of the lasting impact left by the ordeal. ‘I’m struggling so much with weight problems.’

Others who filled out witness statements shared a similar account of what happened, cops said – paving the way for Lorenzo’s arrest the next day.

The teenager added the incident – which was recorded by friend CC Snow – made her feel insecure about her body.

‘It’s outrageous to me,’ she says in the clip.

Lorenzo, meanwhile, was booked into the Purgatory Correctional Facility in Hurricane the following day, and released after posting bail.

Further footage shared by the St. George Police shows her continuing to deny touching the teen’s skin – just before she is led out of the police house in cuffs.

Seconds before, she insisted she thought the teen was nude underneath her skirt – a claim the teen denied to police during her questioning.

Videos on social media relating to the incident, moreover, suggested that Lorenzo worked for Utah Attorney General John Reyes, with footage showing how she repeatedly claimed to employed by the state.

His office, however, has yet to specify whether she ever did, as her next court appearance is slated for June.

According to cops, Lorenzo said the teen had her skirt ‘hiked above her vagina and butt’ with her pubic hair was exposed.

But the victim on April 23 gave police a video of her wearing the skirt during the night in question, while claiming she was wearing underwear that night, making it unlikely her genitalia was exposed at any time.

During her interactions with the St. George police force, Lorenzo was repeatedly told how what she did was potentially criminal, even if she only touched the teen’s clothing.

‘There was no incident. You created it,’ the investigator told her at a point in the newly shared footage. ‘The consequences of your actions have been all of this.’

She was charged in 5th District Court with a single count of sexual battery, a Class A misdemeanor, and is set to to appear in court next month. In the interim, she is out on bail. DailyMail.com has reached out to the St. George Police for comment.
