‘A one-trick pony’ – Paul Scholes slams £85.5million winger Antony AGAIN after Man Utd sneak Europa League win against Omonia

PAUL SCHOLES has had another shot at Manchester United’s new boy Antony by calling him a “one trick pony”.

And fellow winger Jadon Sancho also got another blast from the Old Trafford legend after their showings in the narrow Europa League win at Omonia Nicosia.

Scholes criticized the pair’s performance after United were hammered 6-3 in the derby against Manchester City over the weekend.

And after watching his old club come from behind to take a nervous 3-2 win against the Cypriot minnows thanks to substitutes Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, the 47-year-old let loose again.

After boss Erik ten Hag admitted that his broad men were “too static”, Scholes told BT Sport viewers: “He was right that the wingers were static.

“Sancho never really falls behind. He really needs a fast left back or a center striker to join in and he doesn’t really have one at the moment.

Anthony on the other hand, he is not lagging behind.

“He seems a bit of a one-trick pony.

“He always cuts in and either goes back to fullback or has a chance.

“You think he needs to develop a little more. It’s still early for him, we know that.”

Sancho was replaced by Rashford at halftime, while Antony was eliminated for Fred in the 74th minute.

United spent £85.5 million on Ajax over the summer for Brazilian Antony, 22, and he scored on his Premier League debut against Arsenal.

He also scored against City, but Sun Sport exclusively revealed how he did it ignored Ten Hag’s defensive orders to trace back before the quake.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old Sancho has scored three goals in ten appearances for United this season.
