Callum Hudson-Odoi is reportedly one step closer to leaving Chelsea with Borussia Dortmund once again ready to loan the young star.
According to air sportsThe 21-year-old’s representatives are in talks with Dortmund about a lease, after it was recently reported that the player had informed Thomas Tuchel of his desire to leave Stamford Bridge.
The winger wants regular first-team football, something he has barely seen at Chelsea, with just 11 Premier League starts last season and well behind his fellow forwards Raheem Sterling. Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic in the pecking order.
He was also completely sidelined for Saturday’s opening game of the season when the Blues narrowly defeated Everton at Goodison Park.
Four clubs are said to be interested in the Hudson-Odoi takeover, namely Dortmund, Juventus, Southampton and Leicester. before a decision is made.
Dortmund were close to signing the England international on loan last summer, but the proposal was rejected and before that he was also the subject of multiple bids from Bayern Munich.
Though injured, Hudson-Odoi is a highly regarded player who has netted 16 goals and 22 assists in his short career, won the Champions League, Europa League and Club World Cup, and was also named Chelsea Young Player of the Year 2019 .
While Chelsea are only interested in letting him leave on loan, Hudson-Odoi only had two years left on his contract and hopes a successful loan next summer will lead to a permanent move when his price tag is lower.
He is one of several players expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes on September 1. Marcos Alonso looks very likely to finally make it to Barcelona, while Timo Werner is determined to rejoin RB Leipzig for a permanent deal.
