EE announces availability of 5G in 19 new locations

EE, the UK’s largest mobile network operator and internet service provider and a subsidiary of BT Group, is again the country’s number one network for the 19th time. Independent testing company RootMetrics ranked EE as the number one operator, beating rivals Vodafone, Three and O2 in all key metrics.

In 14 of the 16 areas in the UK evaluated, including Belfast, Glasgow, Leeds and London, EE was rated as the best overall network in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. EE’s network continues to achieve industry-leading speeds with median average download speeds of approximately 60 Mbps, more than twice the speed of the competition.

According to the tests conducted by RootMetrics in the UK, EE ranks as the best network in terms of overall performance, reliability, accessibility, speed, data, calls and texts.

4G and 5G coverage

The award recognizes the significant investment made in the EE network, which has witnessed the 5G Network spanning 60 per cent of the UK population within four years, and the underlying 4G network reaching 87 per cent of the UK’s landmass, thanks to a dedicated investment program to upgrade and build hundreds of new sites in rural areas.

To mark the UK’s number one network price for the 19th time, EE has announced 19 new locations where 5G will be introduced.
