Fashion fan reveals why you should NEVER trust high street sizing – and people can’t believe they didn’t realize it

A FASHION fan has revealed why you should NEVER trust high street sizing – and why you might buy something different in every store.

Amiee claims the reason sizes can vary so much is that stores change labels depending on whether they have enough stock.

Essentially, she states that if a store has too many size 12s and not enough size 14s, they will simply change the labels on some of the 12s.

In a new role, the content creatorknown online as @amieelaurasaid, “For every woman who is afraid to go shopyou really need to know this because it has saved me so much heartache.

“Did you know that if a retailer doesn’t have enough sizes but has more sizes in another, they just change the sizes?

So let me explain.

“So for example, if they have 50 size 44 and they have 100 size 12, but they need 75 of each, they label 14 on 25 size 12.”

During the 54 second video, Amiee is seen trying on two straight leg pants, one in black and one in khaki green.

While the black fits perfectly, the khaki seems a bit tight around the leg and waist.

She continued: “So obviously this is what happened with this green pair, because these pants are exactly the same, just different colours.

“So you can see on the label that both are the same brand, same code except for a few numbers, label the same size.

“So Next oneyou really need to get better at this.”

Underneath the video, she added, “It’s a scam @Next, please do better.”

Her claim attracted a lot of attention online, gaining more than 182 likes and 26,400 views.

In the comments, TikTok users shared their reactions, though many were unconvinced, with one writing, “Failed… it’s complete BS.”

“Not true,” remarked another.

Amiee replied: “The two pants I tried on have the same size label, but are visibly different in size when worn. Just sharing my experience.”

A third added: “They don’t do this…however there is up to a couple of inches of wiggle room with stitching (remember real people sew these and you have to account for human error) so if you’re a plus size that’s an inch smaller and a smaller size that is an inch taller, they look the same.
