V-presenter Gail Porter said she was “sucker-punched” and acted as a peacemaker between two fights “off their face” women outside of her London House.

The 51-year-old former Top of The Pops presenter claimed she heard two women “killing each other” on her street, prompting her to run out of her flat and intervene on Saturday night.

She tweeted: “Please remind me that if two women fight outside my house, don’t go out and try to make peace. Now at home with a punch to the jaw. I must love London.

“Just ran away when two girls were killing each other on my street. Managed to break it, but one decided to hit me. Still standing.

“They were two girls from their heads. I just wanted to calm it down because it upset the neighbors. Just wanted to keep the peace.

“Glad I jumped in because it looked bad. A slap was better to me than what they did to each other.

“Entirely right. A little shaken but all good. It all dawns on me. Blinds down.. can stay inside for a few days.

“I’m Scottish. I can take a sore jaw. I wish the world was a better place.”

It is not clear whether a report has been filed with the police.

She added Sunday morning: “But…. Today is a beautiful day and it was a sucker punch. No harm done. I didn’t really feel it. Being Scottish and stuff.”
