Grey’s Anatomy fans, the moment you’ve been waiting for may be drawing closer as Sarah Drew opens up to a potential spin-off.

The actress became a firm favorite with viewers thanks to her role of Dr. April Kepner in the medical drama.

Her character had a long running love story with Jackson Avery, played by Jesse Williams, that got us all hooked.

In the 400th episode, it was revealed that they had reunited and sealed their relationship with a kiss.

Sarah teased that she was talking to her former co-star about a potential spin-off to Japril, and we want it to happen immediately.

“So many people ask me about a Japril spin-off, and Jesse and I have both been very verbal about how we’d like to see something like this happen,” she confessed.

‘We like to work together. We love that relationship and any chance to see them more on screen together, I think a lot of people would be happy about that.

“We’d be happy with that, so we’ll see.”

In addition to a new series, she also kept the door open on April and made a surprise return, but admitted that nothing was in the works just yet.

“Not that I know of,” she added Entertainment tonight of a possible comeback. “But when I came back for the 400th, it was about three weeks before we said we’d shoot. So you never know! That door is always open.’

Grey’s Anatomy has been on our screens for 17 years and has brought us almost as much drama, tears and happiness.

However, a huge change was announced ahead of series 19 – which premieres next month – when it was revealed that Ellen Pompeo would be appearing in a minor role as Meredith Grey, having led the way for the past 18 seasons.

To calm our nerves about the upcoming episodes, Ellen spoke to Yahoo Entertainment about what to expect.

“The show inspires people to enter the medical world. It inspires young people to want to be healers and doctors. It’s a great platform and I really love it,” she said. “But there’s only so much I can do after 19 seasons. It is much.

“I’ve given so much of my heart, passion and energy to the fans and the show, and if I’m not at the same level 19 seasons later, I don’t deserve to be in every single episode.

“The fans deserve people who are super excited and happy to be there. And these new kids that we’ve had are very happy and excited to be there.

“I did want to leave, and they were kind enough to listen to me and then they were nicer than that to offer me another part.”
