Haringey: 30-year-old man fights for his life after being stabbed in a street fight

man fighting for his life in Hopital after being stabbed repeatedly in a huge street fight in the north London.

The victim, in his thirties, managed to take himself to hospital after reports of a group of people fighting in Lordship Lane, Haringey Tuesday at 8:10 p.m.

A police investigation near Wood Green Crown Court revealed no suspects or victims.

The man is in a ‘life-threatening’ condition in hospital, police said.

A takeout worker said he barricaded himself near customers after the “huge” fight broke out. He told The Standard: “I came out and someone yelled that they had been stabbed. It was dark so it was hard to see.

“There was so much yelling and yelling, people were running everywhere.

“I was scared and so were my customers, so I lowered the shutters to keep them safe. It happens a lot.” The last time bullets flew into my shop it stayed with me, I didn’t want it to happen again would happen.”

He added: “We are always concerned. My friend at the bakery was murdered a few years ago and a woman was shot in the leg in the Caribbean restaurant.”

The scene around a betting shop remains lined with a trail of blood that stretches for more than 100 meters.

No arrests have been made.

In 2015, Erdogan Guzel, 42, had a cup of coffee at a table on the sidewalk cafe next to his bakery in Lordship Lane, when he was struck in the chest and killed in a hail of gunfire from a semi-automatic rifle.

A Scotland Yard A spokesman said: “Police were called at 8:11pm on Tuesday 27 September for reports of a group of people fighting in Lordship Lane, N22.

“Agents arrived on the scene and conducted a search of the house. No suspects or victims were identified.

Shortly afterwards, a man in his thirties was taken to a hospital in north London with stab wounds. He is still in life-threatening condition.

“The investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances and a crime scene remains in place. No arrests have been made.”
