Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) received another huge shock Holly oak courtesy of son Bobby Costello (Jayden Fox), who wrote her a chilling letter informing her that he is cutting all ties with her.
The killer, as viewers know, faces a hefty sentence behind bars for taking multiple lives, including that of deranged grandpa Silas Blissettduring his killing spree.
Mercedes was heartbroken when she learned how long her son will spend in prison, but the bigger shock came when he confessed to have too killed Verity Hutchinson.
Determined to do the right thing, the former dog landlady insisted that Bobby confess his crime to Detective Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown), and eventually he did, meaning he’ll now be looking inside for much longer.
Mercedes was inevitably heartbroken to learn such a thingbut firmly believed that getting Bobby to confess was the right move Show and Diane Hutchinson (Nick Pickard and Alex Fletcher) that she wished she had turned him in sooner, as Verity might still be alive if she did.
Friday (January 27) first-look edition of the Channel 4 soap which debuted trendy new opening credits to reflect a number of cast changesbusy finishing the Bobby story, while Mercedes struggles to understand that her little boy is going away for a long time.
Diane sympathized with her, knowing what it’s like to have a son convicted of a serious crime, and eventually gave her some advice, insisting she be there for Bobby when he needs her.
Mercedes was willing to do just that, but as she headed out to say goodbye to her son, she was in for a huge shock — with Zoe dropping by to reveal that Bobby had given her a letter instead.
The letter details Bobby’s resentment towards his mother, whom he revealed he wanted nothing more to do with, claiming that he “hates” her, much to Mercedes’ shock, as she fell to the floor in tears.
Bobby, meanwhile, was taken to prison, where he will be for a VERY long time.
