Huddersfield news: 15-year-old boy fighting for his life after ‘stinging’ near Yorkshire school | UK | News

A boy fights for his life after reports of a stabbing at a school in Huddersfield. A number of parents and residents have said students saw the youngster “repeatedly pinned and stabbed”.

Police, paramedics and Yorkshire Air Ambulance rushed to the accident site and officers set up a barrier and blocked roads.

The boy was taken to hospital, where he is in “critical” condition.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “At 2:54pm this afternoon, police received a third party report that a teenager had been seriously injured in an attack in Woodhouse Hill, Huddersfield.

“Emergency services arrived and a 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital in critical condition. A police cordon has been put in place while investigations are underway to determine the circumstances.”

City Councilor Amanda Pinnock described the incident as serious, but said he was still awaiting details from the police and had no further information.

A 24-year-old man said: “I can imagine Year 7s will have witnessed” [what happened]. It’s tragic. That it happened to a 15-year-old boy dropping out of school is insane.

“I really feel for the parents. The panic they must have felt when they received the call.”

A mother of three told Yorkshire Live: “I was absolutely shocked. It’s getting worse and it’s every other week now.

“I heard a gang of guys pinned and stabbed him. My heart just sank. It’s scary. It’s a parent’s worst nightmare. You send them to school, you think they’re safe and come home safe.”
