CLEANING your home is hard enough, so why make it any harder?
The way you furnish and design your home can make a huge difference to how easy it is to clean.
At least according to professional cleaning lady Alyssa, who runs her own deep cleaning company.
She posted on TikTok the five things she would never have in her own home because they can be so tricky to clean.
Waterfall faucets
They may look good for the first week, but the truth is they will be a nightmare to keep clean.
Alyssa said, “I abhor these things, the limescale and limescale is terrible.
“Unless you want to dry it after each use and clean it every day, I don’t recommend buying them.”
Screw on toilet seats
Usually there are two types of toilet seats: screw-on and slide-on.
Screw on toilet seats, making cleaning just that little bit more difficult.
The pro explained, “It’s essential for me right now to have a toilet seat that slides off or goes up so I don’t have to unscrew things.
“You’ll get a better brushing like that.”
non-detachable shower head
A rain shower on the ceiling of your bathroom may look chic, but it probably makes cleaning the bathroom more difficult.
The detachable shower head allows you to get the water exactly where you want it.
Too much grout
Small tiles in your home can look very chic, but cleaning takes twice as long.
“Please don’t do this, for your own sanity,” the pro joked.
Opt for a larger tile with less grout to make life easier on yourself in the long run.
Framed shower doors
You may have a glass shower door, which is probably hard enough to stay streak-free.
But adding a frame to the glass will only collect dirt and grime.
Either stick to a shower curtain or choose shower doors that are plain glass.
