Investigation into car accident Anne Heche closed by LAPD after death

Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that the investigation into the crash that caused Anne Heche’s death has been closed.

The actress was pronounced dead on Friday at the age of 53a week after she was injured when heThe car crashed into a Los Angeles home before it caught fire.

Heche was taken to the hospital where she later fell into a coma from which she never woke up.

The LAPD confirmed to the Associated Press that the investigation into the crash is closed in light of Heche’s death.

It said in a statement: “As of today, no further investigative efforts will be made in this case. Any information or data requested prior to this course of action will still be collected if it arrives as a matter of formalities and will be included in the overall case.

“If a person suspected of a crime dies, we don’t come into consideration.”

Heche had been declared brain dead, which qualifies a person to be legally considered dead in the state of California, although her representative confirmed that her heart had continued to beat through life support while matches were sought to donate her organs.

Heche’s son, Homer Laffoon, shared a statement on behalf of him and his brother Atlas after their mother’s death was confirmed.

He said, ‘My brother Atlas and I have lost our mother. After six days of almost unbelievable emotional swings, I am left with a deep, wordless sadness.

“Hopefully my mother is free from pain and begins to discover what I like to envision as her eternal freedom.

“In those six days, thousands of friends, family and fans have expressed their hearts to me. I am grateful for their love, as well as for the support of my father, Coley, and my stepmother Alexi, who have remained my rock during this time. Rest in peace mom, I love you.’
