Ireland weather: With Éireann, cool and clear weather forecasts for today as uncertain weather comes in the coming days

Today will be a cooler but clear day with sunny spells and scattered showers.

et Éireann said moderate northwesterly winds will be stormy at times near showers, so it will feel “quite chilly” for this time of year with highest temperatures of just 11C to 14C.

The showers will become more isolated in the late afternoon and mostly die out towards the western coasts by evening.

Tonight it will be mostly dry with long clear spells and some isolated showers along the Atlantic coasts. It will be quite cool at night with lowest temperatures of 3C to 7C, while frost, mist and fog are also possible.

The forecaster said tomorrow will be a dry and moderately sunny day in most areas, but the chance of isolated showers will continue in the west throughout the morning. The highest afternoon temperatures are between 14C and 16C.

After a dry, calm start to Thursday night, continued and occasional heavy rain is coming from the northwest, with lows of 6C to 11C.

Met Éireann said Friday will be a wet and windy day to start, with “persistent and sometimes heavy” rain across the country, while south to southwest winds will remain cool to strong and gusty at times, with storms hitting the Atlantic coast . In the afternoon clearer conditions will follow from the northwest with scattered showers, with highest temperatures of 15C to 18C.

Scattered showers will fall Friday night into Saturday, mainly along the Atlantic coasts, with the best dry spells and clear spells in the east. Lowest temperatures of 8C to 12C are expected.

The forecaster said there will be sunny spells and fairly scattered showers on Saturday morning, “some will be heavy and thundery”. Showers will retreat on the western coasts during the afternoon, while longer periods of sunshine will appear elsewhere. The highest temperatures will range from 13C to 16C.

In the night from Saturday to Sunday there will be showers mainly in the western areas, but in general they will be lighter. The best clearing will be in the east, with the lowest temperatures of 8C and 11C.

Sunday morning, some sunny spells give way to clouds with some light showers, but later in the afternoon there will be better sunny periods with highest temperatures of 13C to 16C.

Milder but it remains unsettled in the early days of next week, although there is a chance that more stable conditions will emerge later in the week,” said Met Éireann.
