NEW DELHI: Trust Jio on Friday said it’s true 5G network based on the standalone (SA) architecture is now available in each of the 33 district headquarters of its home state – Gujarat.
This makes Gujarat the first state in India to get it Jio Ware 5G coverage in 100% of the district headquarters, the telco said in a statement.
“As a model state, Jio will launch a series of True 5G-powered initiatives in education, healthcare, agriculture, Industry 4.0 and IoT sectors in Gujarat and then expand across the country,” it added.
Jio and Trust Foundation in addition, they are also launching an ‘Education-For-All’ initiative to initially digitize 100 schools in Gujarat.
This initiative involves connecting schools to Jio’s 5G network, providing an advanced content platform, teacher-student collaboration platform, and school management platform, the statement said.
“We are proud to share that Gujarat is now the first state to have 100% district headquarters connected to our robust True 5G network,” said Akash M. AmbaniChair, Trust Jio Infocomm Limited.
“Imagine the power of 300 to 400 million skilled Indians going to work in the next 10 to 15 years. It will not only bring a better standard of living to every Indian, but will also help realize our Honorable Prime Minister’s vision of becoming a developed economy by 2047,” added Ambani.
Through this initiative, Jio and Reliance Foundation seek to align schools “with the best in India and the world”.
“5G cannot remain an exclusive service available to the privileged few or to those in our largest cities. It should be available to every citizen, home and business across India. Only then can we dramatically increase productivity, income and living standards across our entire economy, creating a prosperous and inclusive society in our country,” said Ambani.
Starting Friday, Jio users in Gujarat will be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer, which will allow them to enjoy unlimited data at speeds above 1 Gbps at no additional cost.
